Target Steps
Beginning
a healing process is never, ever easy. We may be tested in
ways we have never experienced before. Believing with your
heart and professing with your mouth that Christ Jesus is Lord can
bring about some real challenges. But, the good news is that God says we
are "conquerors" and
"my word does not come back void."
Wow! That is powerful. I
always say,
"a spoonful of will power, a dash of faith sprinkled with
belief and trust in the Father is all we need to confront challenging situations
so that we may stay faithful and obedient in our walk".
God will do the rest, if we do our part. Remember..."for
God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of
love, and of self-discipline."
(2 Timothy 1:7)
So ladies, this means we already have what it takes in our spirits
to overcome bad situations; bad choices; hardships and the like.
Now is the time to
find
our spirit of power, love and self discipline!
Hold on to
our
spirit of
power, love and self discipline!
Build upon
our
spirit of
power, love and self discipline!
Here are some target steps to guide you on your journey with Christ
and help you stay the course if you so chose. Keep in mind
that we may not get it right the first, second, third, fourth or
even the twenty-fifth time, because we are always a stones-throw
away from sinning in the eyes of the Lord. for we battle the
desires of the flesh everyday, sometimes throughout the day.
However, our spirits
are
stronger and we can overcome. We must
keep striving,
because God is forgiving and merciful. He loves us and wants
to see us live with the joy of Christ in our hearts. Remember,
always be honest with yourself and God. For He knows our true
intentions.
Here is a healthy suggestion...carry a small study bible and a pen
or highlighter with you at all times. When feeling stressed
from the circumstances of life, we can quickly refer back to God's
word and apply it to our situation.
All
things are possible through Christ;
all things!

Keep Your Heart Open.
Even if you have a little doubt, don't get disappointed, it
is ok. Jesus Christ said,
"the kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and
planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all our
seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and
becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its
branches." (Mathew 13:31)
Let your faith grow like that of a mustard seed. Hold on to what God
is beginning to sow in your heart. Study His word so that you
may understand it. In one of Jesus' parables he explains how
the word takes root in our hearts at different levels. He
talks about four sowers:
The First
Sower
~
"when
anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand
it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart.
This is the sown along the path."
The Second Sower ~
"The one who received the
seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at
once receives it with joy. But since he has no root, he lasts
only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because
of the word, he quickly falls away."
The Third Sower ~
"The one who received the
seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but
the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it,
making it unfruitful."
The Fourth Sower ~
"But the one who received
the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and
understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty
or thirty times what was sown."
(Mathew
13:18-19)
Always Seek God.
He will reveal His word to those who seek Him.
Always Praise God.
No matter what is going on in your life, even
if it seems too unbearable or unmanageable remember to still give
God praise. We can't expect everything to e ok all of the
time. Stormy situations bring opportunities for us to grow and
change.
Make a Commitment to God.
Make a decision today to walk in the Spirit of Jesus and not
your flesh.
Allow God to Transform
Your Life.
"Do not conform any longer
to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what
God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will."
(Romans 12:2)
Read and
Reread Psalm 1 in the Bible.
"Blessed is the man
who not does walk in the counsel
of the wicked
or stand in the way of the sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
But delight is in the law of the lord;
and on his law he meditates day and
night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of
water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does
prospers.
Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in
the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the
righteous.
For the Lord watches over the way of
the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will
perish."
(Psalm 1:1-6)
Mediate daily on what it means to be "like a tree planted
near running waters". Think about how that kind of a tree
stays nourished all of the time. Visualize its roots
touching a constant source of water. Ask
yourself...
1. Where are your roots grounded and what are they grounded
in?
2. Do you read God's scriptures on a daily basis in order
receive His Living Water as your constant source for spiritual nourishment?
3. What do you do for yourself on a daily basis in
order to stay connected to God?
Read and Keep Sacred God's First Commandment.
"You shall have no other Gods
before me." (Exodus 20:3)
This means do not worship any
other Gods like His people thought they were doing at the foot of
the mountain while Moses spent forty days and forty nights with the
Lord. Are you worshipping the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob;
the Father of Jesus Christ? Do your actions match your
beliefs? Don't forsake Him at the foot of your mountain.
Love God "with all your heart, with all your soul,
and with all your strength".
He requires nothing less from us.
Are you loving God with all your heart, soul and strength through
your faith and actions? If not, you can always start now.
Renew,
Refresh and Regenerate Your Mind.
Your mind represents the essence of what
is in your heart. Its place where
God's spirit talks to your spirits. Its the place where
transformation takes place. Therefore, you must tend to your
mind like a garden. A gardener has one focus: to create a
beautiful scenery. He plants, turns the soil, plants seeds,
waters it and watches it grow. Be the gardener of your mind.
Make Jesus Christ your focus so that you may walk in His Spirit.
Use God's scriptures as your gardening tools to plant seeds.
Keep watering your mind by reading His word everyday even if its a
little bit. Then, watch His seed take root in your heart.
So when life's frustration, disappointment, hurt, and anger seems to
hinder you go to the one place where you can find beauty: your mind.
Let God speak to us again so that we can recapture His joy and peace.
Remember "Whose" You Are.
The bible says God knew you
before you were born. He had His eyes set upon you and had
plans for you before you were even conceived. You have to
remember that you are a child of
the Most High God who is able. He raised Jesus from the dead. He
brought His people out of Egypt. He hardened the Pharoses
heart to reject Moses each time he appeared before him just to prove one point: He is God
Almighty and yes, he can do anything. He who did all that and
much, much more is the same Living God that blow breath in you.
Tell yourself:
"I am a child of God."
"I am a conqueror."
"My mind and thoughts are beautiful."
"I can overcome this situation."
"There is someone who I can cast my fears, thoughts and frustrations
to: my God."
" I am not going to worry as God says."
" I am healed by Jesus Christ stripes."
"The Spirit of Jesus Christ lives in me so all things are possible"
What we have to understand and keep in mind is that we belong to
God. We live in is His Kingdom, the earth which is His
footstool. We are here for His purpose, not ours.
Get In Control and Maintain Control of Your Mind.
Its hard, but we have to learn how to manage
our emotions and thoughts. Do not let them over power you, but
rather over power them so you can move forward in your walk
through Spirit and not flesh. We must recognize that when we
don't control our emotions and thoughts; someone else or something
is. God gave us a "spirit of self-discipline", not a spirit
out of control. So, it our job to handle it. How well
are you handling your mind? When we are not in control of our
emotions and thoughts it opens the doorway to undesirable sin and
disobedience in God's eyes. Practice, practice, practice
walking in the Spirit of Christ.
"For the law of the Spirit of
life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and
death." (Romans 8:2)
Don't Just be Familiar with Jesus' Name, Let
Him Live in Your Heart.
Show God that Jesus lives in your heart by your faith and deeds
(actions). Let your actions follow your belief.
"But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy,
peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self-control...Those belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the
sinful nature and desires. (Galatians 5:22-24)
Get to Know What is Pleasing and Acceptable to God.
You must spend time reading and rereading the Bible to learn what God
expects and how to live your life according to His will. Your
actions should become like second nature, reflecting the ways of His
word. If not, then your are not living His word by your
actions. We have to be honest with ourselves in order to grow
and become what Paul describes in the book of Colossians, a mature
Christian. God sees you, do you?
Sow God's Word.
Sharing the Gospel with others is also a part of becoming a mature
Christian. As Paul writes, we must encourage and connect with
other believers. By doing this we can help others grow in the
Spirit of Christ, as well as, ourselves.

Please Note...Red Rose Ministry is a
Christian organization that tries to glorify God and the Lord
our Savior, Christ Jesus, in all ways. Therefore, you will
find that we purposefully capitalize a few nouns and pronouns
throughout our web site, online materials and marketing tools
when referring to the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. We
refuse to capitalize satan's name or others related, even if it
is grammatically incorrect, because they are everything that is
considered evil to the Holy Father. In the Lord's name, we
rebuke satan in the name of Christ Jesus of Nazareth.
