Healing Pain

Healing painful emotions from a broken relationship is possible.  However, first we must acknowledge there is a problem.  Where there's hurt, there's distress and that means there's a problem.  To acknowledge something simply means to admit it.  Getting honest with yourself and God isn't easy sometimes, because we have to face the truth.  Many of us are not ready to recognize the truth and some of us don't even know that the root cause of the truth lies within us.

God wants happiness, joy and abundance for us.  These things only come from being obedient to His word.  Therefore, we have to make decisions based on His desires, not ours.  However, this is how many of us make mistakes and don't even realize it.  We get so caught up in what we want instead of what's best for us according to God's will.  In order for healing to continue, we must
accept our bad decisions.  We have to take responsibility for our own choices and come to terms with the repercussions that are a direct result: hurt, frustration and disappointment.

Next, we must
act.  Act on God's word, because
healing your mind is like tending to a wound.  Putting a band aid over your "mind's wound" will only keep it damp and take longer to heal.  To live an emotionally healthy life, we have to keep our mind's free of the debris and rubbish that can collect.  Imagine emptying out a trash can: everything comes out.  We have to think like this in terms of emptying our mind's of all the negative and hurtful things like bad names, degrading remarks, curse words and lies in order truly let go of the past.  For we are more than these things.  Then, to build our mind back up we must think it as a newly planted tree needing water in order to grow.  This time let the source of your water come from God's word and not somewhere else.

Belief and faith in His Word will enlighten your mind and allow it to shine, bringing forth new fruit, beautiful leaves and a strong trunk rooted in the ground unable to bend or sway.

Make space in your mind for God and keep the debris out.  Remember...without action, there is no faith.
