God-Centered Life Think About It?
Do you love God?
Do you know and love His only begotten son, Jesus? Do you follow
His commands and decrees?
Thought Some of us say we love God, but turn around and
treat others badly. Some of us think that we love ourselves,
but turn around and engage in relationships that are bad for us.
The question becomes...do we really know God and His ways? As
John says
"no
one who lives in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to
sin has either seen Him or known Him."(John
3:6) At some point on our
spiritual journey, we have to stop doing what's wrong and try to do
what's right. Sometimes, it takes a while to change old
habits, but we can change if we want too. The key is that we
have to be willing to go the distance, run the miles to do what it
takes. This is no difference between intellectual change and
physical change (ie. losing weight). We still have to do what
is takes: hard work. The old cliché still stands "where
there's a will, there is a way." The question is...do you have
the will to make the change you desire and know in your heart is the
right thing to do according to God's will, not yours?
God calls His people to be
holy, act holy and do holy things. We are not perfect and
fighting fleshly desires is hard, but if God says we are conquerors;
then, who are we not to believe. Either you believe in God or
not? To believe means that you have to faith during times when
life is too tough to handle and you see no way out, when you
don't how your going to pay the bills or when everything around you
seems to be crumbling down from your house to your kids. How
many of know how to walk by faith and not by sight, walk by spirit
and not by flesh? It may be the hardest thing you've ever had
to do, but there is salvation over the mountain top if you'll just
hold on. Sometimes God has to brake us down to build us up and
take us to the edge just to get our attention. Ohhhh, but when
you believe and have the kind of faith that is unshakable you'll
find that you can overcome obstacles that you never thought you
could before. When you equip yourself with the word, it
becomes engrained in your spirit and you become transformed into a
new person. God's word become the armor that you use to
deal with any situation in life.
We should get to know
God and Jesus Christ so that
we can be a better people and make better
choices for ourselves and others.
