GOALTo encourage families to experience
more peace in their homes instead of chaos, disruption, violence, and
dysfunction by choosing peace over hostility. Remember, God
gave each one of us free-will. We need to exercise
that power of choice. We need more peace and love in
our homes on a daily basis. The goal is to model this
behavior for one WHOLE day.
Here's How You Can Participate! Model peaceful behavior in your home for one
whole day! Christ Jesus says, "Peace I leave with you; my
peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not
let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27
Christ also says that in him we will have peace; but, in the world
we will have tribulation. John 16:33 God wants this
for us; but, it our choice. For He so graciously gave us
free-will. It is our prayer that God's people come together on
this day and every day to embrace the peace of Christ in our hearts
and our homes. Peace be with you...family.
Ways to
Model Peaceful Behavior
1.
Be quick to listen, do not argue.
2.
Do not call a family member a bad name, say something positive instead.
3.
Do not be quick to catch an attitude, politely remove yourself from
the situation.
4.
Manage your emotions, think about what you're going to say before
you say it.
5.
Control your actions, do not act as though you have lost control of
a situation.
Remembering the Fruits of Our
Spirit
this day!
1.
Be humble, not pride-filled.
2.
Be joyful, not sad.
3.
Be patient,
not exasperated.
4.
Be gentle, not harsh.
5.
Be loving, not mean.
6.
Be kind, not rude.
7.
Be faithful, not doubtful.
